Discovery reads capability definitions and stores their names, descriptions, types, and input schemas. It does not run the capabilities.
Example
The Weather MCP exposes:
After Discovery, GroundForge can show these capabilities in the platform and use them when you create Gateway rules.
Run Discovery when:
- you connect an Agent or MCP provider for the first time;
- you intentionally add or remove a capability;
- you change a capability input schema.
CLI examples
--status shows the progress of an Agent discovery request. Opening Observations or Drifts does not start Discovery.
